Dr. Ydalith Rivera-Perez
Bilingual Postdoctoral Fellow
Dr. Ydalith G. Rivera-Pérez is a bilingual psychologist who is completing her post-doctoral fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Holly Carlson Zhao.
Dr. Pérez brings a wealth of experience from almost two decades of mental-health service to teenagers, adults, and geriatric populations as a Physician Assistant in Psychiatry. She has experience providing care to underserved and culturally diverse populations; individuals diagnosed with cancer or chronic pain; and individuals diagnosed with dementia, substance use disorders, or severe mental illness. Additionally, she provided assessment and therapy services to individuals struggling with dementia, depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Dr. Pérez is passionate about providing patient-centered evaluation and care, and takes a holistic view of health. Because her practice is informed by her knowledge of medicine and psychiatry, she believes that mental health and physical health are intimately related. True to her love of science, she believes that neuropsychological evaluations and evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, are the best practice standards. She strives to provide effective treatments tailored to the individual’s needs, goals, and values.
