Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I See A Neuropsychologist?

Adults and children concerned with overall brain wellness and cognitive strength can greatly benefit from special testing that monitors your brain function over time. We prepare an individualized brain wellness plan based on your existing cognitive performance. In our practice we commonly help assess difficulties with ADHD, Alzheimer's disease, concussive events, early onset dementia, educational evaluations, learning differences, mild cognitive impairment, and neurodevelopmental disorders (including Autism Spectrum Disorder).

Neuropsychology- What Is It?

Neuropsychology sounds redundant – psychology already has to do with the brain! Why add the ‘neuro’? Neuropsychology is a form of specialized psychology that requires additional knowledge of the brain, how it works and interacts with other parts of the brain and body, and how to identify its strengths and weaknesses. Neuropsychology experts specialize in disease and brain health that span every stage of life.

What Should I Bring With Me To My Neuropsychological Evaluation?

If you have received a neuropsychological evaluation in the past please inform our office in advance so that we can arrange to receive a copy. Please bring a list of previous surgeries and a plastic bag containing your current medications.

Do I Need To Fill Out Any Paperwork?

Yes. Paperwork may be filled out prior to your initial appointment or at our office. If you would prefer to fill out paperwork in the office, we are happy to provide the necessary forms when you arrive.

Do I Need A Referral?

All insurance-based care typically requires a referral for billing purposes. We will ask you the name of your physician at the time you schedule an appointment. While a referring provider is required for service coverage, you remain in control of what level of communication you wish us to have with your treatment team. We are happy to coordinate your care regarding your cognitive health and partner with other professionals.

How Long Does It Take To Get An Appointment?

We currently are accepting patients on an ongoing basis. Annual brain wellness check-ups and neuropsychological evaluations can typically be scheduled within one month or less.
